What a wonderful post today. Your contest is delightful. I am in love with Heyer's books and that era in particular. The setting, characters and period is my favorite ever. Thanks for this lovely chance. saubleb(at)gmail(dot)com

My favourite Heyer moment was finding "The Unfinished Clue" at a book sale.

I have only read one Heyer book (An Infamous Army) so I don't really have a favorite Heyer moment yet, but I would love a chance to be entered in this contest. I recently saw a very cool display of Heyer's books at Barnes and Noble, with The Foundling in center position. Hopefully I will be able to go back and grab a copy before it's sold out.

I first discovered Heyer in a charity shop about a year ago. Someone had donated their whole collection. I bought one, and then rushed back a couple of days later for a few more to read on my long flight from Australia to America. They were very old tatty copies, so I pealed off the pages as I read them and threw them out so that I wouldn't have to carry extra weight around airports. I hope that doesn't bother anyone too badly. So there was a trail of Heyer pages throughout airport and hotel rubbish bins from Melbourne to New England.

Please enter me if you are not too horrified at my defacing Heyer's books: thereadingjourney[at]gmail[dot]com

About Me

My photo
New Hampshire, United States
Bibliophile, Anglophile, Traveller... I have been an avid reader all of my life, since I took the Dr. Seuss Dictionary away from my Mom when I was less than a year old because I wanted to read it myself. In college, where I earned my degree in English Literature, I was often asked "What are you going to do with it?" Now I finally have the answer to that question!!! Being employed as a Flight Attendant for twenty years has given me a lot of life experience and, better still, a lot of time to read. I love to travel for fun, too.
