How's this for a goodie package? While I was at Book Expo America I was able to get some great promo items for Catching Fire, as well as an extra Advanced Reading Copy!
Of course, I have a copy for myself, too! :)
I have yet to read The Hunger Games but am fascinated by how popular it is. Can't wait to find out for myself what all the excitement is about!

So, to enter for this giveaway just leave me a comment here telling me why you liked The Hunger Games (or not, if there is anyone out there who didn't) and why I should make it the next book on my reading list. If you haven't read The Hunger Games yet then leave me a comment that tells me what you have heard or read about it that make you interested in reading it. This contest will be open WORLDWIDE and you can enter until midnight eastern on August 17. Extra entries can be earned by doing the following:

I'd love to read both Hunger Games and this one because I have heard so much about both of them. I am typically the last one to read a much hyped book and wouldn't it be neat to not fall into that category again? LOL.

I'm intrigued by The Hunger Games because it sounds like imaginative suspense. I haven't read it yet.

I loved The Hunger Games! It was awesome!

I'm a huge fan of Survivor the show and thought this was a cool concept.

I wasn't a fan when I first read the initial summary of the book but it really was handled tastefully. I'm looking forward to seeing a movie and I can't wait to read Catching Fire!

I loved the Hunger Games because of the suspense, action, and romantic plot in it. It has everything I like to see in a book with an amazing heroine. It's not everyday you come across a book where a fifteen-year old sacrifices herself in order to save her sister's life, and compete in a deathly game.

You should definitely make it next on your reading list because who would want to pass on an amazing book, especially if you have the coveted sequel to it? It's very different from the typical books that are out--in a good way. You will be surprised at how good you find it to be and what twists are filled in there.

Thanks for having this giveaway! :D

I have yet to read either "Hunger Games" or "Catching Fire," but have heard so many things about them. They are, right now, just two additional novels on my mental "Tower of Babel." However, I do think that both, especially "Catching Fire," will be incredibly fast paced (and intriguing) reads. I would definitely love to read a book that has a female protagonist, too! Of course, that is not including the humor, personal relations, and-of course-violence in this book that apparently makes it so invigorating and suspenseful. It sounds like it would just give me a mental orgasm, and I greatly look forward to reading it someday.

I read the Hunger Games in one day, despite having a swim meet during that day. It is a book that shouldn't be overlooked because, despite being classified as a young adult book (I'm no longer a young adult), has enough depth to prove that young adult books are by no means "light". What I found most interesting is how we can see it relate to our own world, where reality TV has become a pervasive part of pop culture. We can look at what's happening in Katniss's world and see it reflected in our own.

2nd try -
i wrote one earlier, but it didn't save...
the first time i picked up the Hunger Games, i was immediately caught by what that could mean. The struggle for food is one that millions of people face every day everywhere, although in richer places we tend to forget that. from the very beginning THG's heroine, Katniss, is fighting for her family, fom taking charge of her family at a young age and hunting illegally to help keep food in their stomachs Katniss tries her best to care for them, even at the cost of her own life.
when her sister is chosen for the Hunger Games Katniss runs up to take her place, because she knows if she doesn't it will mean her sister an almost certain death.
from there all throughtout the Hunger Games Katniss has a strong will and crafty wits that soon make her a very formidible competitor in the Games even though nearly all the moves she's made have benefitted someone she loves.
now in Catching Fire she is facing more opposing challenges that threaten to kill everyone that she cares about...and i hope to get a copy so that i and my siblings can devour it as we did THG
THG is a really fantastically written book and i will say that, if you have yet to read THG then go and get a copy, and i say that only because there are readers like me who love the book, and want it for what it is, and not because of its existential growing popularity

You should definitely make the Hunger Games the next book on your reading list because I have not heard of anyone who hasn't at least liked it after reading it. I'm sure you've read all about the plot already, so I'll tell you that Suzanne Collins not only creates an amazing storyline that will intrigue even those looking for particular genres of books, she also writes in an expressive way that captivates and attatches you to the characters of the book as well. There is no doubt in my mind that you will love this book as soon as you start reading it, and you're fortunate enough to have the second book already! Hunger Games changed my life... in a good way!
It is one of the best books I have ever read. The suspense and intensity of the writing just makes you want to read more. The development of the characters is superb I felt myself sympathizing, exclaiming and loving with every single one of them. I have recommended this book to everyone I know, because I know it will stand the test of time. I just hope the movie can live up to the expectations set by the book.
Another good thing is that the main character is not a whiny, annoying teen who doesn't appreciate her life like you find in most books these days... *cough*twilight*cough*

Thankyou sooooo much if i win

I am extremely excited for the release of Catching Fire as The Hunger Games was one of the most amazing books I have ever read!
Its story line captivated me immediately and had me consumed into this vivid world of power, emotion and politics. Every intense page made it impossible to put down, and even though its concept was harsh and devastating, I couldn’t help wanting to be in Katniss’s shoes and to feel her every experience. Suzanne Collins’s ability to combine love and action in such a powerful way has made THG’s a book that everyone is talking about and one that will continue to ignite interest in readers for a long time to come.

The Hunger Games is one of my absolute favorite books of all time. The premise is compelling, the female protagonist kicks butt, there's a sweet love story that doesn't overshadow the real story... I could go on and on, but I think it's a must-read for both teens and adults!

You have to read The Huger Games because it's awesome!
It's a book really easy to read.. (I finished it in one night) It doesn't matter that you tell yourself "I finish this chaper and not more for today" because all the chapters left you thinking "What is going to happen now?"
The heroine, Katniss, has a dry sense of humor, sometimes I can't help it and I started chuckling (so I advise you to read this book alone.. my whole family think I'am crazy now)
And Peeta... he's such a sweet boy!
But not everything is "laugh and joy", there are many sad moments.. so you'd better not grow fond of the characters!
To sum up is a book which worth every cent.. I think that it's the book I have liked the most this year and I don't think this is going to change.. (Well.. maybe with Catching Fire)

that's not very difficult to answer! characters are well developed (you'll immediately find yourself routing for both Peeta & Katniss). Katniss has to overcome MANY (and i mean "many"!) obstacles, but learns more or less from her mistakes. You're able to actually see (not only read) about how she gets more mature. Many people like to compare it to Battle Royale (it was also made into a japanese movie,-personally I haven't read it & also not seen it...but that'll change ...SOON)
BUT be aware that this is NOT a book for those who hate violence!

Left a comment earlier but never gave a reason i love the book :)
Well, firstly the whole storyline is great, and it makes a believable world with realistic characters. The author has written it really well, weaving tales of love and danger together, but not in a cheesy way unlike some books. I'd love to read it early because it seems like i've been waiting a long time for it to come out, and i'm waiting to see what happens next between Katniss and Peeta !
Thanks :) siobid_2(at)hotmail(dot) co(dot)uk

I do not just like Hunger Games, I absolutely LOVE it! It's a very intriguing and innovative book. I have never read a book that is anything like this. The main character,Katniss, is one who I really admire because she is brave, smart and caring. This book should definitely be next on your TBR pile because it's non-stop action from beginning to end and their is also alot of suspense. Who doesn't love books that are set in the future?

I loved reading The Hunger Games because it is a captivating story about a girl who does the best with what she is dealt in life, even when that means being forced to fight for your life in a chilling battle against your fellow teenage countrymates. The imagery and suspense created by the words of this author is breathtaking.
It should be the next book on your reading list because once you read the first page, it's impossible to put down til you read the last page. Who doesn't love a book like that?

The Hunger Games is one of the few novels that I had to pick up again and immediately reread because it is so riveting. I raced through it the first time, excited to find out what was going to happen next. The second time through I noticed so many more nuances and themes that relate to no only to children but adults as well. Additionally, as a teacher, I was immediately inspired to teach this novel to my students; not only as a 'great' book but a lesson in great writing as well.

I'd be the perfect person for a Catching Fire. When I read it the first time, I immediately went to my reading teacher and library worker and told them to read it then pass on the message. Now, at least 3/4 of the school has read it! And they all loved it! woohoo! Plus i've been nagging my mom to read it, too.

Well, back to the contest.

Being a bookaholic, I can't not love this book! What really got me hooked and in love was Suzanne Collin's characters. They're all perfectly lovely in every way, (except President Snow and the Capitol).

Catching Fire should be the next book on my reading list because I just can't wait three weeks for the book. I need it now! lol.

OMG. I loooved the hunger games. I liked how Katniss handles being manipulated by most of the people around her. It's interesting to think of a young girl, being the thing that will ultimately change a "post apocalyptic" world (thats where I se the book going). Of course enter me in this giveaway

I would love, love, LOVE to win a copy of Catching Fire! I only recently became a fan of The Hunger Games and I am so glad I stumbled upon this book. It's amazing. It gets your heart racing and it's impossible to put the book down at the end of a chapter, it keeps you wanting more and more.

Initially, when I started reading I was little unsure whether it was my kind of book or not but as I read on I quickly realised it was a winner. There's a particular death that I cried nearly as much as I cried for the SADDEST in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (don't want to give away spoilers!). It's so sad and the respect that Katniss (main character) gave.. well, beautiful and admirable and helped the flow of tears!

You should really read it and get hooked like the rest of us. You should also really consider choosing me to win because I can guarantee you I WILL implode if I don't get this book soon and trust me, I'll sign documents to hold you legally accountable! LOL Great giveaway though, thanks so much!

I loved The Hunger Games!!! I’ve reread it 7 times now. I just never get tired of it. I read The Hunger Games when it first came out - I’ve been waiting to read Catching Fire for a year…I’d do anything to get it! I think you should make it the next book on your reading list because it’s amazing. Amazing! Everyone should read it (unless they’re too young). The characters, the idea, it’s just got everything in it, and Suzanne Collins is a really talented writer.

Anyway, I really loved the Hunger Games because of the post-apocalyptic society and the richness of the characters.
